Account Information

If you create an account or make a purchase, we collect your email address and the purchase details needed to provide your license (such as plan, price and transaction ID). Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record for purchases on our website and web app, or by Microsoft for purchases made in the Microsoft Store. We never receive or store your card details.

Device and Usage Data

We collect anonymized data about how you use the app, such as usage patterns, device identifiers (e.g., user ID), and performance metrics via third-party tools. This helps us understand how PDFly is used and improve the experience.

Permissions

Depending on the feature (e.g., opening files or saving documents), PDFly may request access to device storage. These permissions can be controlled in your device settings.

Your Documents

Most PDFly features work directly on your device, and your files never leave it.

Some features run on our servers: converting to and from Office formats, OCR, translation, summarization and share links. When you use them, the document (or text extracted from it) is sent to us and to the provider that performs the task. It is used only to deliver the result you asked for and is not kept longer than needed for that purpose. Files you share via a link are stored until the link expires or you delete it.

We do not sell your documents, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Deliver and personalize your experience within PDFly
  • Process the documents you send to our cloud features (such as conversion, OCR, translation and summarization) to deliver the result you requested
  • Manage payments and subscriptions
  • Improve the performance, stability, and security of the app

Verification of licenses purchased before we moved to Paddle

Supabase

Sign-in, user accounts, purchase records and storage for shared files

CloudConvert

Conversion to and from Office formats and OCR, performed on request

OpenAI

AI translation and summarization, performed on request

DeepL

Google Cloud Vision
